Replication or Reinvention: Educators’ Narratives on Teaching in Higher Education During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Objectives: The purpose of the study was to examine narratives about effect sudden transition from face-to-face teaching emergency remote necessitated by COVID-19 pandemic on post-secondary educators. Method: We conducted interviews with 11 educators five institutes in one province Canada. Educators were asked reflect their experiences during in-person and learning. Results: Our thematic analysis revealed that educators’ influenced three main factors: (a) student engagement, interactions, persistence learning; (b) competence application teacher technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK); (c) overall well being faculty students. Conclusions: Participants had unique experiences, institutions varied ways they supported students staff. Those who expertise, experience, or professional support technology seemed have an easier transition. Implication for Theory Practice: Higher education should enhancing facilitating learning various delivery modalities.
